New Focus is Impressions Gallerys Young People’s Project Group an initiative developed by the Gallery to ensure that young peoples voices are heard. New Focus gives young people from Bradford aged 16 – 25 the opportunity to get involved in making key decisions on specific projects, and enables young people to develop key skills preparing them for their future careers.
“In terms of my experience of New Focus- I have really learnt a lot from working with the other members. Everyone has such different ideas and interesting perspectives on photography and Impressions Gallery. I have enjoyed being a part of the various projects we have taken on. I appreciate having a voice and being able to share ideas for a big gallery like Impressions. Before New Focus, I never thought I would be able to get so involved with exhibitions and projects at a gallery “. New Focus member Lynsey Bareham
“Being a new focus member has been a great experience for me. Not only have I learnt so many new things but I have also had the chance to work with some truly talented people. Getting involved in some of the events and projects has had a huge impact on my confidence, and has really given me the chance to learn about my own strengths and weaknesses. Being a New Focus member has been an unforgettable experience! ” New Focus member Nayaab Mahmod
